I came to photography not through an academic career choice. Instead it was the choice to travel and experience life around the world. The Americas. The Middle East. Asia. Europe.
As a solo traveler the camera becomes your companion. It allowes you to walk and wander around; into the unknown. Observing people. Observing life itself.
Picturing little details in nature. Happenings on the streets. People from all walks in life. Buildings. Landscapes. My images are a reflection of my life. Someone who likes to remain on the outside to observe. And nothing spectacular might happen - yet, something might reveal. Then, it can be turned into a picture and as such I like to create something aestetical and artistic. So, the question is not so much "what to show" but "how to show". Life as stillstand. Still life.
Nevertheless, I also like it loud and vibrant sometimes. The other me that is. Strong colours. Exaggeration even. Playing around with filters. Wht do I picture ? I might hold the camera up into the blue sky where strong, green leaves of trees create an almost abstract image. Or take picture of street happenings. People in colorful cloth like a procession in Mexico. Life as it just happens. And me - in it and also outside of it.
